High demand for exhibitor space at this years Expo has prompted organisers to expand the event site – an indication this year’s showcase of “all things aquatic” will be the biggest and best yet.
Event and Marketing Manager Emma Milne said more than 70% of available sites had already been allocated to a wide range of exhibitors for “Australia’s only working boat show” from 17-19 October.
“The high demand for exhibitor space certainly confirms that the Expo has cemented itself as an important event for the marine industry not just locally, but for Australia,” she said.
“We have extended the Expo layout and added a bunch of new exhibitor sites totalling more than 530 square metres on the hardstand space for marquees and outdoor sites,” said Ms Milne.
“We’ve also moved the entrance to the Gold Coast City Marina section of the site to cater for more exhibitors and we will still be remaining true to Expo’s philosophy and holding prices at 2013 levels.”
Last year, more than 21,000 people attended the not-for-profit Expo – an event run by the marine industry for the marine industry, which brings together everything from superyachts to fishing equipment and jet skis … and everything else in between.
“Expo showcases a massive array of marine equipment, accessories and boats … and gives the enthusiasts the best chance to get afloat before the summer and Christmas seasons,” said Ms Milne.
“We have locked in several world, Australian and Queensland product premieres – and these include an exciting evolution in the range of personal water craft and accessories – as well as underwater cameras, inflatable stand-up paddleboards and the debut of the new 6000 Flybridge from Whitehaven Motoryachts.”
The 3km-long Expo circuit will also feature a huge range of live attractions and demonstrations every 15 minutes, including the amazing extreme high-diving show.
“It really is going to be a whole lot of fun,” said Ms Milne.

Ms Milne said a survey conducted last year revealed 91% of people attending rated the Expo eight out of 10 as a great event, and 82% of them confirmed they will be back in2014.
“We will again be offering free on-site parking and the nominal entry fee of $8 per adult, $5 for seniors helps to secure the future of the event and raise much-needed funds for charity. Children under the age of 15 years will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult.”
