New changes announced

Gold Coast International Marine Expo’s Event and Marketing Co-ordinator Emma Milne said there would be a number of changes introduced this year based on exhibitor and community feedback, including a date change and the introduction of a modest entry ticket price. “We have decided to bring the Expo dates forward to October 17, 18 and 19 when the weather is a little cooler and to avoid conflicting with other major events such as, the Melbourne Cup and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Expo announces new president

We have officially welcomed a new president this week after founding president, Stephen Milne, stepped down from the role late last year. After three years at the helm of the Expo Committee, Mr Milne said it was time to hand the reigns over to Gold Coast boating and business leader, Patrick Gay AM. Mr Gay founded Gay Constructions in 1955 and has created many high profile developments, including the River Links estate in Helensvale. Expo raises $22,000 for local community

The Gold Coast community will benefit directly from funds raised at this years Expo. The Rotary Club of Coomera River, Sailability Gold Coast, Westpac Surf Life Saver Helicopter Rescue Service, and Paradise Kids will share in $22,000 raised at the Expo, which is a 26 per cent increase from last year.  Each charity was presented with a cheque at a special ceremony held on December 13. Integrity Motor Yachts held the launch of the first of the Aspire range of motor yachts at the Gold Coast International Marine Expo, selling two already and with hopes of selling at least six per year.
